Filmmakers from across the nation have the opportunity to be selected to screen at the prestigious festival as a Finalist for the chance to win $100,000. CinefestOZ has fast become a staple in film industry calendar, with countless industry professionals having visited the festival. Enter now to be a part of this truly unique film festival.
Submissions for the CinefestOZ 2017 Film Prize are open from 20 February 2017 – 2 June 2017.

Girl Asleep was announced as the winner of Australia’s greatest film prize of $100,000 at the CinefestOZ 2016 Film Festival.
Girl Asleep, directed by Rosemary Myers, written by Matthew Whittet and produced by Jo Dyer, was named the winner of the 2016 CinefestOZ $100,000 Film Prize, Australia’s greatest film prize.
The film was selected from fellow finalists Jasper Jones, Spin Out and The Death and Life of Otto Bloom – MIFF@CinefestOZ.
In 2014, the inaugral CinefestOZ Film Prize was awarded to the family friendly, Robert Connolly-directed film, Paper Planes, which went on to critical and box office success.
The 2015 CinefestOZ Film Prize was awarded to the documentary, Putuparri and the Rainmakers, which went on to screen at Film Festivals in Tahiti and Toronto, made its television debut and has recently been nominated by the Film Critics Circle of Australia for Best Documentary.
The CinefestOZ Film Prize is supported by the Western Australian State Government through Tourism WA’s Regional Events Program, which is funded by Royalties for Regions. The festival acknowledges its strong partnership with Screenwest, Lotterywest and Screen Australia.
