CinefestOZ is proud to announce a strong new partnership with Campus Perth – Perth’s exciting, new, co-living hub, centrally located in the heart of Northbridge.

Set to open its doors in 2019, Campus Perth is offering a generous student accommodation prize to the winners of the 2018/19 Cinesnaps Short Film competition as part of this year’s CinefestOZ film festival.

For the next two years, eight lucky students will be offered the opportunity to experience a semester of free student housing at Campus Perth, enjoying brand new facilities and huge social and common areas, including a rooftop lounge.

CinefestOZ CEO Malinda Nixon said the opportunity for South West students to receive scholarships for residential student living while they pursue their tertiary education in Perth is a tangible benefit of entering the Cinesnaps Short Film competition.

The Cinesnaps Short Film Competition is part of the CinefestOZ schools program. It encourages aspiring South West filmmakers, aged 15-18 years old, to create and showcase original short films, 3-5 minutes in duration.

“The South West is known for its creative industries and it would be gratifying to see South West students starting out on their creative careers with this prize from Campus Perth,” Malinda said.

Campus Perth Marketing Manager, Jasmine Kemp said she was excited about Campus Perth opening its doors next year, and the collaboration with CinefestOZ.

“Campus Perth has been designed to offer students the ultimate study, life balance in a fun and safe environment, which is extremely important for students that are leaving home for the first time,” Jasmine said.

“From Campus, students can easily stroll to local landmarks such as the Art Gallery of Western Australia, the State Library of Western Australia, Northbridge Piazza, Russell Square and Perth Railway Station.

“Being in the city centre, students can also get a part-time job or management training in their specific industry”.

General Manager, Brian McHenry said the prize would give budding South West filmmakers a unique advantage to launch their university life and film career in a thriving technology hub, surrounded by opportunity.

CinefestOZ is supported by the Western Australian State Government through Tourism WA’s Regional Events Program. Rio Tinto is a proud Premium Partner and Community Partner; supporting the Cinesnaps schools program. The festival acknowledges its strong partnership with Screenwest, Lotterywest and Screen Australia.
