CinefestOZ Film Festival and WIFT Australia have come together to host an exciting all-inclusive nine day writing retreat in the beautiful South West region of Western Australia for WA based WIFT Australia Full and Student members, regardless of their current industry role, who have an eligible project they wish to make significant creative progress on.

The retreat is structured in two parts – a five day writing intensive held from 20 – 25 August in a private residence where participants will have the opportunity to knuckle down and complete their proposed outcomes for their individual projects with onsite mentorship from local screenwriter and director Miley Tunnecliffe; followed by attendance at the two-day CinefestOZ Industry Program from 26 and 27 August. Additional time will be offered after the Industry Program concludes for those wishing to attend other events in the festival or to continue their work at the house.

The retreat is open to all current WIFT Australia members with WA residency over the age of 18 with a screen project they wish to develop creatively. The project can be short or long form, but must be intended for broadcast or distribution via traditional channels or online. For more information on the eligibility criteria, the format of the retreat, and what’s provided, please download the guidelines below.
