Taihra Swaine

Director | Peanut

From a young age Taihra has always been drawn to storytelling, starting her career in the industry as an actor.

Taihra uses filmmaking as a way to communicate her self-exploration of womanhood, identity and mental health. Her short film, Peanut, was inspired by her own personal experience and won her the WA Screen Academy award for Excellence in Directing, as well as Peanut winning Best Film.

Taihra hopes to continue telling stories of the human experience, revealing the honest, raw and beautiful moments in life that we are usually too afraid to talk about.
