Rio Tinto Brockman 4, General Manager
Born in Zimbabwe and studying as a Mining Engineer in South Africa, Steve commenced his mining career over 30 years ago. This facilitated Steve and his family to be exposed to multiple cultures working in Southern Africa, South and North America as well as Australia. He has managed surface and underground mines, with various commodities in diverse environments, with strong community interaction. Steve is currently the General Manager for Rio Tinto’s Brockman Iron Ore operations; a role he has occupied for the past 4 years. Over this period he has seen significant growth in demand for the regional Fly-in Fly-out model from Busselton, Albany and Geraldton into the Brockman hub.
