CinefestOZ On the Road is a travelling cinema program bringing free Australian film screenings to regional communities across Western Australia. Each event is designed to create a relaxed, welcoming space where communities can come together and enjoy great stories.

Are the screenings free?

Yes! All CinefestOZ On the Road screenings are completely free to attend. We encourage everyone in the community to come along and enjoy the experience

Do I need to book tickets?

Screenings require pre-registration due to venue capacity so get your free ticket by navigating above, selecting the town screening you want to attend and following the prompts.

What can I bring?

There will be seating available at each venue, so you don’t have to bring anything but yourself! If you would like to make the most of it, you are welcome to bring:

  • Picnic rugs, pillows or blankets
  • Low camping chairs (at all venues apart from Mount Barker)
Can I bring alcohol?

No. BYO Alcohol is not permitted at CinefestOZ On the Road events.
This aligns with each venue’s licensing requirements, where BYO alcohol is typically prohibited.

This season of CinefestOZ On the Road is an indoor event, so screenings won’t be affected by weather.

Updates will be shared via the event page or local communications.

What time should I arrive?

We recommend arriving early to secure a good spot, set up your seating, and enjoy the atmosphere before the film begins. Doors open at 6pm.

Are the venues accessible?

CinefestOZ is committed to accessibility and inclusion. We aim to select venues that are accessible to all community members. If you have specific access requirements, please contact us ahead of your event via [email protected] so we can make sure to allocate a spot for you.

What should I bring for comfort?

For the best experience, we recommend:

  • A warm jacket or blanket as we are in beautiful town halls and the weather is turning

In the spirit of reconciliation, CinefestOZ acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and their continuing connections to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We thank the Traditional owners for sharing their living culture with us, as we come together on Boodja (Country) to celebrate storytelling in the medium of screen. We ask you to respect the area and walk softly on Boodja, take time to listen and leave no trace. CinefestOZ acknowledges the Wadandi, Piblemen, Menang and Yawuru people, the spiritual and cultural custodians of this land on which we live, work and play. We honour and respect the significant role First Nations people play in our communities, guiding us and allowing our festival to flourish. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples should be aware that this website may contain images or names of people who have passed away.
