The Australian film industry’s success in adapting novels to screen is evidenced by the success of films like Jasper Jones, Bran Nue Dae, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Red Dog, Rabbit Proof Fence, Jindabyne, Lantana, My Brilliant Career and many others. This fascinating session explores the adaptation process; what it takes to not only find the right book for a screen adaptation, but how to do it and do it well.
