Film submissions for the 2024 festival are now open!

Lights, camera, action! The anticipation is building as CinefestOZ Film Festival invites filmmakers from across Australia to submit their creations for the 2024 festival, set to captivate audiences from August 31st to September 8th.

This year, CinefestOZ welcomes an array of content submissions, embracing the rich tapestry of Australian storytelling. The official selection categories with some new additions include:

  • Film Prize
  • General submissions for narrative and documentary feature-length films
  • Short films
  • VR/AR experiences
  • Music videos
  • Mini-series
  • Web and online series
  • TV pilots

This expansive selection ensures a dynamic and inclusive platform for filmmakers to showcase their craft across various formats.

At the heart of CinefestOZ is the prestigious Film Prize, Australia’s richest film award of $100,000, recognizing excellence in filmmaking for an Australian feature length film or documentary. The Film Prize selection premieres with West Australian screenings, leading to intimate In-Conversation events at iconic locations in the South West. The climax of this cinematic journey culminates in an unforgettable gala evening on September 7th, where the winner is revealed, marking a pinnacle moment in Australian cinema.
