Short Film Awards

These Australian short films are curated into sets and shown in Busselton, Bunbury, Margaret River and online. The short film screenings showcase WA and Australia’s filmmaking talent along interactive discussions with filmmakers. The prizes and awards being presented as part of the Short Film Competition include:

  • CinefestOZ Short Film Prize – $5,000 (Must be a WA Premiere)
  • CinefestOZ Indigenous Best Short Film – $2,500
  • CineWest Best WA Short Film – $2,500
  • Inclusivity Award (new in 2025)
  • Best Director
  • Best Lead Actor
  • Best Screenwriter
  • Best Music Video (New for 2025! Cash & Prizes TBC)
