Genevieve Hofmeyr is widely regarded as one of South Africa’s most accomplished Producers, who has made a significant contribution to the growth of the entertainment industry in South Africa by procuring more than 80 international projects across the spectrum of film production including major US studio projects, independent co-productions, episodic television series as well as indigenous South African films and television. Pioneer of foreign production in South Africa, Genevieve has been integral in putting South Africa on the map as a production destination for Hollywood and other international territories.
Genevieve has worked with award winning filmmakers such as Clint Eastwood, Alfonso Cuaron, George Miller, Gina Prince-Bythewood, Edward Zwick, Michael Mann, Marc Forster, Martin Campbell, Bruce Beresford, Sean Penn, Mira Nair, Roland Emmerich and Phillip Noyce, as well some of Hollywood’s A-List stars including Meryl Streep, Denzel Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio, Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, Hilary Swank, Ryan Reynolds, Matt Damon, Daniel Craig, Alicia Vikander, Tom Cruise, Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey and Gerard Butler.
The Hollywood Reporter listed her as one of the three most influential women in South African Cinema and she was listed in Variety’s International Women Leaders in the global film and TV industries.
Genevieve has just completed “Children of Blood & Bone” (Idris Elba, Viola Davis, Cynthia Erivo, Chiwetel Ejiofor) for Paramount which she Line Produced and recently she co-produced the Paris leg of Murder Mystery 2 starring Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler for Happy Madison and Netflix. Prior to that, she helmed the South African production of feature films “Black Beauty” (Constantin & Disney Plus), “Escape Room” &”Escape Room 2” (Sony Pictures), “Tomb Raider” (MGM), “The Mummy” (Universal Pictures), “Mowgli” (Warner Bros), “Queen of Katwe”, (Walt Disney Productions), “The Dark Tower” (Sony & MRC) and “Monster Hunter” & “Resident Evil : The Final Chapter” (Constantin).

Genevieve’s television credits include “Warrior Season 1, 2 & 3” for HBO, episodes from Netflix’ series “The Crown” and “Black Mirror”, “Oasis” a pilot for Left Bank Pictures and Amazon; Wildside’s “The Young Pope” starring Jude Law and Diane Keaton and Season 4 of “Homeland”.
