Yasmin Kassim 

Writer, Comedian and Actor

Yasmin is South Asian Australian writer, comedian and actor from WA who was recently awarded West Coast Visions for her feature film Prawn Curry Christmas, co-written with Menik Gooneratne and to be directed by Charmaine Murray. Yasmin and Menik also wrote the award winning short film To the Death, directed by Rose McIver (I Zombie, Ghosts.) They have since hosted two Q and A panels amplifying diverse voices within the industry with the support of Screen Australia. 
 
Yasmin has received development support from Screenwest for her project Ghostwriter which was also chosen for the 2024 WIFT CinefestOZ writer’s retreat. Yasmin was also chosen as a writer for Screenwest’s TeleNavigator 2024 and FeatureNavigator 2025. She served as the comedy punch up writer on the upcoming feature You Always starring Adrian Grenier (Entourage) where she also plays Grenier’s love interest.   
 
As an actress, Yasmin will soon be seen in Anaconda opposite Jack Black and Paul Rudd, Bear Country (Russell Crowe, Aaron Paul) and Spa Weekend (Anna Farris and Isla Fisher.) Previously she was on Australian soap opera Neighbours and in feature film Jungle starring Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter.) Yasmin was one of the 8 comedians chosen for Mardi Gras 2025 where she performed for a sold out audience of 1700 at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney.
