Craig Silvey is a best-selling award-winning novelist and screenwriter from Fremantle, Western Australia. His second novel, Jasper Jones, is considered a modern classic. Jasper Jones has been translated in over a dozen territories and has sold over 800,000 copies. It has received critical plaudits in three continents, including a prestigious American Library Association Printz Prize Honor, a Dublin Literary Award shortlisting, and a Miles Franklin Award shortlisting.  

Craig’s work has been successfully adapted for stage and screen. A film adaptation of his 2012 graphic novella The Amber Amulet was awarded a Crystal Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. Jasper Jones has enjoyed sell-out seasons at five separate state theatre companies, and was nominated for four Helpmann Awards, including Best Play.  

Craig co-wrote the 2017 film adaptation of Jasper Jones, directed by Rachel Perkins and starring Toni Collette and Hugo Weaving, for which he won an AWGIE award for best adapted screenplay. Jasper Jones was nominated for six AACTA awards, including Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Picture.  

Since then, Craig has been developing original screenplays, working with Blackfella Films on The Prospector, a noir-mystery-western; and The Cage In The Wild, a psychological thriller, with Factor30 Films.  

Silvey released his book RUNT in 2022 and the heart-warming, funny, beautifully told story for readers of all ages quickly became a best-seller.
