Emma Jackson

Emma is an actor, writer, director, teacher and theatre maker with over 20 years
professional experience. As a performer Emma’s career has spanned theatre, film and TV, both
in Australia and internationally since her graduation from NIDA. She has performed across the
country for all the major state theatre company’s including Black Swan, Belvoir St, STC, QTC,
MTC SASTC, The Sydney Opera House and has completed a number of national tours. Emma
has been teaching acting for the stage and screen for two decades and has been directing in
theatre in many different capacities over the years including working with returned service
women and men within the Australian Defense Force, bringing their stories to the stage.
She has built a career on telling stories.
DEB is her screen directorial debut and the steepest, fastest and most exciting learning curve
she’s been on inyears. To say she is thrilled that her very first film is having it’s world premiere
in her home state at CinefestOz 2020 is the understatement of the decade.
